Digital Library of Tripura was established on 27th June, 2013 at Birchandra State Central Library. Digitization, through page by page scanning of books published before 1923 and copyright free books in regional language published from Tripura is nearly completed. The project is running in assistance with CDAC under the scheme of Digital Library of India, Govt. of India. At the end of the project full text of the books will be available in https://www.ndl.govt.in(link is external) these books along with other born digital books will be available in the library for readers use, through a touch screen Information Kiosk. At present near about 1500 books already been screened, which will be fully utilized shortly. For this purpose 4 computer machines have been utilized. The users / Scholars will easily collect their information from this section. In future this scope will be extended in other Public Libraries also.
