The function of this division is receiving of new books, selection and processing of all categories of publications like English, Hindi, Bengali, Kokborok and any other regional language published from out side & in side of State.
Books received as specimen copy are scrutinized by the technical staff of this section for avoiding duplication or any discrepancy if any. After that books are arranged for selection by the Book Selection Committee i.e., by the subject experts/ specialists those who are engaged by the authority. Selected books are purchased after prior approval of the competent authority. After that books are received by the technical section and after Classification & Cataloguing books are placed in the lending section for utilization by the readers.
